Hot Mic: Dan Crenshaw Threatens to 'Kill' Tucker Carlson

Republican Congressman Dan Crenshaw was caught on a hot mic threatening to 'kill' Tucker Carlson.

After finishing the interview with conservative British news channel GB News, reporter Steven Edginton asked him if he had ever met the former Fox host.

Crenshaw replied he had not met Carlson in person, but 'If I ever meet him, I'll f***ing kill him.'

TIMELINE

2022- 2024: Previous feuds

• Crenshaw and Tucker have long had an antagonistic relationship that has played out over social media. The pair have clashed repeatedly over foreign policy, with Crenshaw critical of Carlson's desire to end U.S. aid to Ukraine and the broadcaster's praise for invading force Russia.

• The disputes have turned personal, with Carlson even appearing to mock Crenshaw's disability—he lost an eye while fighting in Afghanistan—by branding him "Eye Patch McCain" (likening him to the late Republican senator John McCain). And just last year, he described Crenshaw as one "the dumbest, most liberal Republicans" who should be "bagging groceries at Walmart."

• Crenshaw fired back on X, asking why Carlson wasn't "bagging groceries in Moscow," and the politician has also previously derided Carlson as a "cowardly, know-nothing elitist."

Feb 20 – GB News Interview

• Crenshaw sat for an interview with Steven Edginton of GB News (a UK conservative channel) to discuss issues like U.S. aid to Ukraine.

• During the interview, Crenshaw criticized Carlson’s stance against Ukraine funding, saying Carlson “doesn’t know what he’s talking about” regarding the $100 billion aid package​. (Carlson has routinely argued that money spent on Ukraine could be better used on domestic priorities, a view Crenshaw strongly opposed.)

• GB News posted the hot-mic footage on X (Twitter).

• Steven Edginton asked Crenshaw if he had ever met Tucker Carlson. Not realizing the mic was still live, Crenshaw responded bluntly that he had only interacted with Carlson online: “We’ve talked a lot on Twitter. If I ever meet [him], I’ll f**ing kill him”.

• Edginton, also shared the clip from his outlet, saying he has kept “receipts” of the remark and claimed Crenshaw “told me when I laughed it wasn't a joke.”

WHAT'S NEXT

While Crenshaw denied he had threatened to kill Carlson when questioned by Greene online, he has yet to publicly comment on the furore, although he is likely to be under increasing pressure to do so.

In the meantime, Carlson has invited Crenshaw to an interview, so it remains to be seen whether the two men will thrash out their differences in person.
